My spiritual path begins with Buddhism and eventually leads to Christianity. Many foreign missionaries attempted to convert my parents to embrace Christian beliefs by teaching them the Bible, but none succeeded. One day, a couple of SDA missionaries from Holland visited my parents' home, stayed overnight, and helped care for her sick children, clean the house, and cook. They were there with my mother when my father was away on business trips, providing companionship and support. They took care of her during her battle with malaria fever, serving as her 24-hour companions. Remarkably, during all this time, they never preached to her about their religion—not once. Three months later, both my father and mother became committed Christians, forming a lasting friendship with those caring missionaries. I was born into a Buddhist home, where my parents were devout in their Buddhist faith. Tragically, my father disappeared during the Indonesian independence revolution, reportedly kidnapped and killed. My mother single-handedly raised her seven children without ever remarrying. As a child, I had little interest in the Bible. After leaving my job as a healthcare provider, I began to read the Bible again. I was surprised and shocked to discover from the Christians around me that many of them seem to focus more on their interpretations rather than on the teachings of Jesus. They often prioritize their convenience over the ten commandments and the call to total obedience to God, as exemplified by Abraham, Isaac, Moses, Daniel, and other prophets. While they believe that faith in Jesus is their only way to salvation, I question whether faith alone is sufficient. James 2:17 states, 'Even so faith if it hath not works, is dead.' My experiences suggest that faith without action yields little. Simply kneeling down and praying with faith, but without any accompanying work, leads to minimal results.

I believe that His words stand alone. His words are the Truth! They are not subject to interpretation or rationalization to satisfy one's preference. If there is any doubt or question regarding the meaning of His words, we must search further in other sections of the Bible that can clarify our doubts. If none is found, then, and only then, can we turn to His disciples and prophets for clarification on the intent of His words. For example, during Christ's time, the majority of believers adhered to the Sabbath as part of their Christian beliefs. After Christ's death, many believers turned away from the Sabbath and abandoned the Ten Commandments, believing that the Law was nailed to the cross when Jesus died, which was His sacrifice for the world. Many Christians today think they are not under the law but under grace. However, the apostle Paul wrote in Romans 6:15, "What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!" The Ten Commandments come as a complete package. If you can abandon the Ten Commandments and disregard the Sabbath, which is a part of them, you can also ignore and violate the other nine commandments. This logic fails because it allows one to worship idols and commit other acts forbidden by the Law. Beware, brothers and sisters, this is a fraudulent argument! It doesn't make sense, fails the logic test, and may lead Him to reject you and say, "I never knew you," upon His return! In John 14:23-24, Jesus says, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me." Therefore, those who claim to love Jesus but do not obey His teachings are hypocrites! They are no different from the Pharisees and Torah Scholars who crucified Jesus on the cross, failing to follow the true spiritual path.

Everyone was crying and feeling sad because the girl was dead. But Jesus said, “Don’t cry. She is not dead. She is only sleeping.” And they laughed at Him, knowing that she was dead (Luke 8:52-53). Jesus stated that the dead are not truly dead, but merely asleep. Do I believe Him? Yes, I do! I have faith in Jesus, despite what others may think. Do I doubt His words? No, I do not! However, do all Christians believe in what Jesus said about the dead being asleep? No! Why? Because some lack faith in Jesus. They do not believe in Him wholeheartedly. They have not witnessed the dead arise from their sleep, so they question His words. Their faith in Jesus differs significantly from the unwavering faith of Abraham and Daniel. Abraham did not question Yahweh, and Daniel did not doubt God. Both believed in God without any doubt in their hearts. In contrast, many Christians view their faith as a means to an end. They filter their beliefs based on personal desires and benefits rather than simply accepting what Jesus has said. When Jesus declared that the dead are not dead, they responded that it was merely a metaphor. Is it a metaphor when the prophet Moses holds out his staff and the Red Sea parts? When the Israelites walk on dry ground while escaping the Egyptian army, is that a metaphor? No, that exemplifies faith the size of a mustard seed! In Matthew 17:19, Jesus' disciples asked Him why they could not drive the demons out from the boy, and Jesus replied, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you" (Matthew 17:20). This illustrates that without strong faith, even His disciples can achieve nothing! We are more privileged than His disciples because we are His children—faithful children obedient to Him without reservation. This means that we can make the blind see, cast out demons, and raise the dead from sleep. Just because we may not possess the faith the size of a mustard seed does not negate the truth of His words—that the dead are not dead, but asleep. Jesus said, "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give" (Matthew 10:8). There is no condition attached to His promise other than faith the size of a mustard seed. NOTHING will be impossible for us if we have that faith. It has nothing to do with context or metaphor; it pertains to strong faith! Even faith as small as a mustard seed can achieve great things. So, do we now believe Him when He said that the dead are not dead, but asleep? Or do we still doubt His words? I suspect that many Christians still struggle to believe what Jesus said. When they encounter something in Scripture that they disagree with or find challenging, they often resort to the "context" argument as an excuse. God's message is universal! His teachings apply to everyone—Gentiles and non-Gentiles alike, both then and now. For instance, when He says do not commit adultery, that commandment applies universally—to everyone, regardless of age, gender, or status. What relevance does "context" have when discussing adultery? Under what circumstances is adultery acceptable? The answer is none! There is no context in which violating the Ten Commandments is permissible. They are intended to guide our behavior and have everything to do with our spiritual path and our commitment to uphold Christian beliefs.

I hope by now you will agree with me that you have NO faith in Jesus. If you say you believe in Jesus and that you have faith in Him, can you tell me the reason why you don't believe Him when He said that the dead are not dead, but asleep? Jesus said, "Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." Matthew 17:20. Hmm, so now you decide to change your mind and say that you believe in Him when He said that the dead are not dead, but asleep? May I now ask you this question: why did you change His laws when He was asleep? Jesus was asleep in his tomb! Why did you throw His Commandments, all ten of them, out of the window when He was asleep? Changing His laws without His consent is WRONG. And changing His laws without His consent when He was asleep in His tomb is wrong and RUDE! "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Matthew 7:21-23. Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments." 1 John 2:3. "Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city." Revelation 22:14. "For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome," 1 John 5:3. "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." Matthew 11:30. Who are these people whom Jesus referred to in Matthew 7 - "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness"? They are those people who changed God's commandments when Jesus was asleep in His tomb. These Christians, who have different views on Christian beliefs, want to have nothing to do with the Ten Commandments. In Matthew 7:23 Jesus told them, "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness." They want to make His commandments easier and lighter for their members so that they can attract thousands more of people to their group without regard to God's standard: "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." Matthew 5:48. I believe the only way that we can reach the "perfect" level of God is when we are totally obedient to Him - 100% obedient! THE TEN COMMANDMENTS: Thou shalt have no other gods before me; Honor thy father and thy mother; Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy; Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image; Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; Thou shalt not kill; Thou shalt not commit adultery; Thou shalt not steal; Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor; Thou shalt not covet.
